beach haven

August 6, 2010 •

Off to the Hamptons… if I had a beach home which someday I will – fingers crossed, this is what I would want my bedroom to look like. White washed walls, an organic carpet, sea scape artwork, elements sporadically placed and a majestic and serene view out the windows. One could sail far far away while dreaming in this environment. Happy weekend everyone!

apartment inspiration v.2

January 11, 2010 •

I haven’t purchased much needed furniture yet, because I don’t move for another week, however below is the attention to detail I aspire to achieve upon settling in. An over-sized mirror, soft ottoman, rug, petite table and pretty artwork make the corner of a room extremely comfy. Flowers, a mirror, makeup brush holder and scented drawer inserts make the vanity a happy way to start the day. Symmetry in the bedroom with flanked tables, lamps and artwork, and the best accent – a bench at the foot of the bed. Hanging art in unexpected places and frames that require no hanging at all by resting on the floor. Lastly, I am toying with the idea of a electric fireplace to give my living area a focal point and some added warmth.

spots, dots and flower pots

September 30, 2009 •

All inspiration for Castle, an Aussie based company crafting handprinted pieces for the home. Founded in 2008 by Rachel Castle, this line carries clean, sophisticated bed linens and cushions. Crisp white is met with color creating geometric pattern on both the sheets and pillowcases, whereas delicate flower details are used on the cushions and quilts. And if you like it enough to frame it, Castle also offers handmade artworks, screen prints and handstitched one-off embroideries. All art is sewn by Rachel herself and her very patient and loving mother, Jillian Patching. Go forth and spread the fancy in your fortress.
