bridal party ask gifts

He popped the question, now it’s your turn… how do you ask your beloved family and friends to be members of your wedding party? My husband and I knew we wanted the planning of our big day to be as fun as possible, even though it can be stressful, expensive and a big time commitment. To start the tone off right we came up with these special boxed invitations.

For the ladies; Maid of Honor, Matron of Honor, and bridesmaids, they each got a box of all things that POP; Pop Champagne, Garrett Popcorn, Pop Rocks and a bubblegum cigar. The box included a personalized note and a swatch palette to pick out their wedding attire.

When we were thinking of who would be in our bridal party, the assumption is to include the parents on both sides. I thought why shouldn’t they receive a formal invitation like everyone else. For my folks I asked if they would walk me down the aisle and for my future in-laws I asked if I could call them Mom & Dad. Tears were shed upon their opening the package and it made the introduction to our planning so very intimate, and inclusive. Both parents also received a swatch palette to mirror their attire on.

When it came to the guys; Best Man and Groomsmen, I went to a local cigar shop and was able to score a few free cigar boxes to house again a personalized note, a local batch of bourbon and a cigar.

Simple ideas but a great way to assemble your crew and engage excitement for the big day to come!
